Under the patronage and presence of Prof. Sabah Qasim Khalaf, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad, the College organized an extensive anti-drug awareness exhibition with wide participation from faculty members and students. The event was held as part of the Iraqi Anti-Drug Week, which aims to promote community awareness and strengthen a culture of prevention.
The exhibition featured a variety of awareness posters and artworks created by students from different academic departments, illustrating the dangers of drug use and its negative effects on individuals and society. It also included short lectures delivered by several faculty members, addressing the health, psychological, and social consequences of drug abuse, while highlighting prevention strategies and approaches to promoting positive behaviors within the university environment.
The College Administration emphasized that organizing this exhibition aligns with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to support national awareness programs. The College affirmed its commitment to building an informed generation capable of confronting societal challenges and contributing to a university environment free of this harmful phenomenon, while encouraging students to actively participate in national anti-drug campaigns. Aligned with SDGs 3: Good Health and Well-Being and 4: Quality Education.
